#nightTweets is a platform that allows me to tweet in my sleep: exploring the concept of outsourcing social media to your sleeping self in order to be more active online. Every five minutes, it analyzes my sleep cycle data and takes a different action on twitter mapped to the stage of sleep I'm experiencing (light sleep, deep sleep, or REM) using a vocabulary comprised of my twitter archive. #nightTweets runs in Processing using the Twitter4J + Rita libraries, and uses data from the Zeo sleep tracker.

light sleep: discussing local trending topics
deep sleep: sending direct messages
waking up in the middle of the night
unable to fall asleep again
dreaming in REM: tweeting keystroke data from the day
waking up for the day
